Professional Experience

Project Manager, Denali Energy, Inc., St. Paul, MN; May 2008 – Present
• Specialist in renewable energy wind farm development, and land acquisition.
• Part of a four-member team, representing the United States’ largest wind farm project, the 2,000 Mega-Watt, Hartland Wind Farm with a primary geographic focus in Northwestern North Dakota.
• Primary responsibility is land acquisition for the 2,000 Mega-Watt, Hartland Wind Farm.
• Over a one-year time period, signed, under Option, over 120,000 acres of land within the Hartland Wind Farm project area.
• At any given time, responsible for over 250 individual landowners, representing approximately 170,000 acres of land within the project area.

Acquisitions Manager, Centres, Inc., Minneapolis, MN; October 2007 – April 2008
• Specialist in retail development, tenant/buyer representation and land sales and acquisition.
• Part of a development team, representing retail tenants throughout the nation, with a primary geographic focus on the Midwest and East Coast.
• Primary responsibility is land acquisition for Firestone Complete Auto Care, Auto Zone, Chase Bank and Office Depot.
• Projects include single tenant development from 1,700 square feet in upward of 100,000 square feet.

Project Coordinator Southwest Region, Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., Bentonville, AR; June 2006 – September 2007
• Part of a six-manager Project Coordinator team that led to a savings of over $22 million to Wal-Mart Real Estate’s bottom line in 2006.
• In a ten-month period, put out to bid 25 new store projects for the Southwest Region. Projects ranged from 39,000 square foot Neighborhood Markets to 200,000 square foot Supercenters, and contracts ranged from $5 million to $18 million.
• In a ten-month period, closed out 57 Wal-Mart store projects for the Southwest Region. Closures, led to $50 million of contract money paid out to General Contractors.
• Simultaneously closed 30 Wal-Mart new store projects at one time.
• Responsible for implementing and enforcing Wal-Mart’s specifications for new store construction and project closeouts to outside General Contractors.
• Led a four-member team responsible for the systems implementation of Wal-Mart’s new Ariba, online contract management and service provider qualification web-based system. Coordinated planning sessions and administrative and logistical support with other divisions of Wal-Mart required to integrate their contracts into the system.
• Realty Compliance Division’s representative for Wal-Mart’s new Personal Sustainability Program initiative. Tasked to implement sustainable style of living and present the overall program to the division in such a way as to reach associates at all levels.
• In a ten-month period, solicited over 80 General Contracting companies in an attempt to diversify Wal-Mart’s service provider pool. Of those 80, qualified 75% as new Wal-Mart service providers.
• Performed on site visits to ten potential sites in Southern California for future Wal-Mart stores, evaluated each site’s trade area and analyzed the impact of local market conditions on future operations. In addition, visited local competitors’ stores to compare presentation, pricing, layout and inventory. Rated each site based on potential future success of store in the location and market.

Regimental Activities & Spirit Officer, Platoon Leader (Army Internship), and Training Sergeant for U.S. Corps of Cadets, United States Army, West Point, NY; July 2002 – May 2006
• Managed a variety of extracurricular activities for more than 1000 cadets and administrative and logistical support for the Academy’s intercollegiate and intramural athletic teams. Coordinated with intercollegiate and intramural coaches in order to administer cadet support for their respective sporting events.
• Led 83 soldiers in the Wheel Vehicle Repair Operations Department of an ordnance company. Directly responsible for 23 wheeled vehicles, 14 trailers and 1 generator worth in excess of $2 million. Managed high-level maintenance and provided direct vehicle maintenance support to an organization of 1,000 members. Ensured the timely turn in of maintenance reports required for tracking and accounting for vehicles and services.
• Served as Officer in Charge of the M203 40mm Grenade Launcher range and Assistant Officer in Charge for the M2 50-Caliber Machine Gun range for a 1000-soldier battalion. Developed an operational plan and commanded a six-vehicle convoy through a real-world combat training exercise.
• Ensured the timely turn in of maintenance reports required for tracking and accounting for vehicles and services
• During summer military training supervised and trained 245 New Cadets in the Class of 2008 and 260 rising sophomores in the class of 2007 in close quarter combat skills. Emphasized safety, as well as development of individual military and physical skills.
