Minnesota's Military Appreciation Fund (MMAF) Underway
The Minnesotan’s Military Appreciation Fund (MMAF) is a state-wide fundraising initiative by the citizens of Minnesota for Minnesota military personnel and their families. MMAF is a nonpartisan, volunteer-run, non-profit corporation formed to raise money to provide grants to all Minnesotans who have served in the war on terrorism as a “thank you.”
Founded by area business and community leaders, MMAF calls on citizens to show their support and appreciation for the sacrifices made by Minnesota military personnel deployed in combat zones since September 11, 2001.
MMAF shows our troops how much we appreciate and respect their efforts by providing cash grants to all eligible soldiers, and to the families of soldiers who are killed in combat. There are numerous ways to contribute to the MMAF initiative, including direct contributions, the Family Walk scheduled for September 10, 2005, and volunteering at the State Fair. For more information, visit the MMAF Website at www.thankmntroops.org, or download the forms listed on the front page of the Defense Alliance Website.
