The Defense Alliance formed in July, 2004.  The Alliance aims to enhance the already-successful network of people and firms created by the Minnesota Defense Industry Roundtable (and the associated on-line Newsletter) begun in 2003.  The ultimate goal is to network and expand the defense industry job base and further promote this region's important contributions to the Nation’s defense.

The Defense Alliance includes three important elements: 

• Quarterly events that provide information and a forum to discuss and formulate collective strategies for industry and government to promote defense jobs in the state
• Ongoing networking by the membership to help other members match technologies and services to opportunities that address the needs for the nation's defense
• An Advanced Defense Technologies (ADT) Cluster centered around Advanced Power & Energy solutions for defense industry needs (for more on this iniative, click HERE.

Participation in the Defense Alliance is actively sought among groups and individuals who have an interest in seeing the region's defense contributions grow, including large and small firms, academic and R&D resources and institutions, our elected officials, and professional military and trade organizations.
